Plus 1 Access -Activities only

KAL recognise that some members/customers visiting our facilities may require additional support to ensure they can access certain activities.

If you require additional support you are required to have a Plus 1 on either a local authority passport or an approved access card.

Customers with a local authority or approved card with a Plus 1 will be permitted to have a carer accompany them free of charge to certain activities.

Please note for T&C’s on Plus 1 Yeah Days Attractions bookings please refer to our Yeah Days out website.

How do I register my Plus 1 card with KAL for activities ?

Customers can either email a copy of your Plus 1 card to our Customer Service Team on contact.centre@kal.org.uk and the team will then arrange to set you up on our system.

You can then choose to book on-line via our app or website or you can turn up on the day to pay as you play. However please bear in mind that entry is subject to capacity levels so we always advise to pre-book.

Or

If you have not sent a copy of your Plus 1 card in advance of you visiting the centre, the team team will allow you and your carer entry for your first visit.  We will then  take a copy of your card so a record will be set up for all future visits.

Do I need to bring my card on each visit ?

Yes please ensure you always bring your Plus 1 card to show our staff. Please always ensure your card is still valid.

I'm not a regular user of a KAL Centre can I still bring my carer?

Yes of course, If you are just making a one off visit to one of our centres as a pay as play customer then please ensure you bring your Plus 1 card. Our team will need to take a copy of your card to send to our Customer Service Team to be able to allow your carer free of charge entry.

However please note  entry will be subject to the chosen activity having capacity.

Booking Process - Customers who have pre-registered their Plus 1 card can choose to either book online or at the centre.

Gym – Carer’s do not need to be booked as an attendee on a gym session they should not be using the equipment.

Classes – Carer’s do not need to be booked as an attendee on a class as they should not be actively taking part in the class.

Swimming sessions – Carer’s do not need to be booked as an attendee on a swim session if they are not required to get into the pool.  However if you require your Carer to get into the pool with you then we need to book your carer a space due ensure we meet capacity limits

If you have booked your place on-line, you just need to email the Customer Service Team on contact.centre@kal.org.uk to request your carer to be added to this session.  In the subject header please put the reference PRIORITY – CARER BOOKING. This email will then we dealt with as a priority and once the carer has been added to the booking the customer will get an email to confirm this or they can ask. Alternately if you have registered your Plus 1 card, you and your carer can be booked at any centre.

Are pre paid bookings refundable ?

Regretfully all prepaid bookings are non refundable or changeable unless we cancel the session and you can choose a refund or to move the session.

Can my carer leave me to do their own activity?

The Plus 1 (Carer) must remain with the customer and must only participate in activities that require support.

i.e.

Gym – Plus 1 must remain in the gym area to support the participant but they are not permitted to use the equipment for personal use.

Classes Plus 1 must remain in the studio area to support the participant.  Plus 1 can wait at the side of the class, unless they need to support the participant during the session. If the Plus 1 does need to support the participant they should make the class instructor aware, who can consider any adjustments required (e.g. allowing additional space). The Plus 1 should not independently actively participate in the class as they are admitted free of charge to support the participant.

Swim – Plus 1 must remain in the Pool area to support the participant. Due to the nature of this activity Plus 1’s are permitted to take part in this activity but must remain with the participant at all times.

If I am pre registered but don't want to pre-book will I be guaranteed entry ?

Unfortunately some of our sessions have capacity limits and if a session has reached its capacity then entry will not be permitted.  We always advise all customers to pre-book so they are guaranteed entry.
