Can a Junior Fitness member turn up without a Gym booking

Junior members must only turn up to the centre if they do not have a pre booked session.

Junior members are not permitted entry without a booking.

Any Junior member found trying to enter the centre without a valid booking will be classed as a membership breach.

What are the booking terms for a Junior Fitness Membership

A Junior Gym Orientation is mandatory before attending Junior Gym sessions.

Both a Junior Gym Orientation and attendance at a Strength Workshop are mandatory before attending Teen Gym sessions.

All sessions must be pre-booked. Entry will not be permitted without a valid booking.

Only one session per day may be booked, back-to-back session bookings are not permitted.

A parent or guardian must attend Family Gym sessions. If the parent or guardian is not a member, they will be required to pay for the session.

Junior Fitness members must leave the gym area as soon as their session has finished.

All Junior members are required to bring their physical membership card on each visit.

Any junior member found breaching the above terms may have their membership suspended or cancelled.

How do U16s sign up for a Junior membership?

Yes, if you are a Junior fitness member you need an orientation before you can use any KAL centre. This can be booked either via the app or at your local KAL centre. It will be called “Junior Fitness Orientation”.

Junior fitness members will also need to do a teen strength workshop before they can access the teen gym sessions.

How do I book Junior sessions?

Sessions can be booked via the KAL app.

Can an U16’s accompany me to the Gym?

Our Under 16 members have access to pre-set supervised sessions which they can book into.

Please note that Junior members are not permitted to use the gym independently or under the supervision of a parent or guardian. All gym use must take place during designated Junior sessions with appropriate supervision provided by KAL staff.

This policy is in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our younger members.

What are GymFit sessions ?

Our GymFit sessions will introduce juniors to the fundamentals of exercise and ensure their technique is spot on from day one (available to juniors aged 13 up to 16 years old). This is likely to lead to less injuries, better performance in the future and a more positive early gym experience.

These sessions offer a mix of instructor led and independent work. So, for example, a session may start with the demonstration of a move, such as a squat. Once the instructor has demonstrated this and worked with the group they will then be encouraged to work on their own or in small groups and put what they have learned into practice.

Other sessions may involve, for example, a body weight circuit class, incorporating different exercises to give participants a great workout.

All our GymFit instructors are specially trained to work with adolescents and understand the muscle development of U16 to ensure all workouts are appropriate and safe.

Please note, participants must have attended an orientation (booked via the KAL app) with a parent or guardian before attending their first session.

How many sessions can a Junior Fitness member book per day?

Junior Fitness members are permitted to book one session per day with KAL.

Please note that if a Junior member continually books two or more sessions in a single day, this will result in a 30-day advance booking ban. During this period, the member will be unable to make any advance bookings.

This policy is in place to ensure fair access for all members.
