Moving to better health
At KAL our aim is to improve health and wellbeing by supporting more people to become and stay active, which is why we have developed a programme of activity to support people over 60 regardless of age, illness or ability to achieve their personal goals.
KAL offer a range of opportunities from day time activity days, low impact fitness classes, a range of sports activities and specialist support programmes for people with long term conditions or those that may be new to exercise.
Get active programme
Get Active is KALs daytime activity programme which provides a variety of activities and social engagement for people aged 60 years and over.
Classes and group activities
KAL offer a wide range of classes from low impact health circuits, mind, body and relaxation classes and wet activities such as Aqua Med, which take place across all our facilities.

Social Tennis
Social Tennis sessions are available to book at Batley Sports and Tennis Centre via: wedotennis.co.uk/batley
Golf at Bradley Park Golf Course
New ‘Get into Golf’ sessions, come along to the driving range and enjoy a 4 week introduction to golf. It’s £5 per session, includes an hour coaching and refreshments afterwards, individuals and groups welcome.
Indoor Bowls at Leeds Road Sports Complex
Bowling is available at our Leeds Road Sports Complex site in the bowling dome.

KAL have a wide range of programmes available to support people with long term conditions in becoming and staying active.
First Steps to Fitness
New to exercise or returning to exercise? Join our Complimentary 4 week programme of education to help provide you with structure, motivation and personal support.
Exercise referral scheme
KAL delivers two programmes, Livewell and Fitness for Health which provide a supported programme of activity over a 12 week period. The programme is for people with a long term condition and can be accessed through a health care professional referral.
Volunteer with KAL
Volunteering with KAL enables people to give something back to the community while helping others to improve their health & wellbeing.
Our volunteers bring a passion for being active, and a diverse range of skills and knowledge to provide additional help and support for our customers.
KAL have a range of volunteering opportunities available across our health and wellbeing and sports programmes.
All our volunteers receive an induction to KAL to ensure you know what you will be doing and have all the relevant information you need to do your role safely.
