General partnerships
In some cases, we partner with third parties to deliver our services. In some cases, we provide services on behalf of third parties. Under our general partnerships both parties act as joint data controllers.
PlayFootball
Recreational Sporting Ltd, trading as PlayFootball, operate 3G football pitches on behalf of KAL. We share personal data with PlayFootball under the following processes:
- When you make an enquiry
- When you purchase products or book
- Customer comments
We share this personal data for PlayFootball to fulfil their contract with us, and PlayFootball will share personal data they collect on our behalf so we can monitor the contract performance and make business decisions based on this data.
Both KAL and PlayFootball are joint data controllers.

The University of Huddersfield (ActiveHud)
We work in partnership with the University of Huddersfield’s ActiveHud team to offer a membership subscription that allows use of both KAL and University sports and fitness facilities. This only applies to customers who sign up to a membership subscription that is included in this partnership. The following processes involve sharing of personal data under this partnership:
- When you make an enquiry
- When you join a membership scheme
- When you purchase products or book
- Customer comments
The staff at ActiveHud have access to KAL’s leisure management system providing them the ability to make bookings, sales and permit access for customers at ActiveHud. KAL operate the same services at our leisure facilities, as well as performing the administration of membership subscriptions, such as fee collection.
KAL shares business reporting information with the University’s ActiveHud team in order monitor usage and analyse the performance of the business.
Both KAL and The University of Huddersfield are joint data controllers.

Health and wellbeing programmes
Exercise referral schemes
We work in partnership with several organisations to deliver our Health and Wellbeing programmes. We currently share personal data with the following partners:
- Kirklees Council’s Wellness Service: we share statistical data about our Health and Wellbeing programmes with the council in order help demonstrate the impact of the scheme and set targets for future improvement.

Active Together
We work in partnership with several partners to help deliver the Yorkshire Cancer Research’s Active Together programme. Participants of the programme are referred to us for options participating in physical exercise. Where participants take up services with us, we provide feedback and reporting data, which includes personal data. Our partners and the personal data we share our outlined below:
- Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust: we share dataabout customer outcomes as well as statistical data to help demonstrate the impact of the programme and set targets for future improvement.

Law enforcement and safeguarding
We may disclose personal data to law enforcement agencies or in some cases other parties based on the following exemptions of the UK’s data protection laws:
- The prevention or detection of crime and/or the prosecution or apprehension of offenders (Schedule 2 Part 1 Paragraph 2 of the Data Protection Act 2018).
- Safeguarding of children and individuals at risk (Schedule 8 Section 35(5) of the Data Protection Act 2018).
- Protecting life (GDPR Article 6(1)(d)).
Other
Where we sell or transfer part of our business, we may share your personal information with the third party taking on that part of the business to maintain the service as seamlessly as possible for you.
