KAL Swim Children Swimming Lessons

Stage 1-7 Swimming Lessons

KAL Swimming Lessons follow the Swim England Learn 2 Swim Framework, the leading national teaching syllabus for delivering safe, inclusive, and effective swimming lessons for all ages.

The structured and progressive content is based on a games-led approach to ensure children enjoy learning. With a bright range of badges and certificates, the programme provides motivation and support for children at every level, from their first splash to gaining enhanced aquatic skills.

The framework is divided into progressive stages and takes children aged 5 years and over from the Duckling Awards to Stages 1-7 along the swimming lesson pathway, allowing children to progress at their own pace, developing their confidence, skills and technique.

They are designed to reward your child for their development of the essential aquatic skills they need to be confident, competent and safe in the water.

Lessons last up to 30 minutes and adults do not need to get into the water with their child.

Stages 1-7 are delivered throughout KAL and support swimmers through their progression in the pool.

Stage 1 lessons are designed to help build water confidence, introduce water safety skills and the basic skills needed to build swim ability and progress through the pathway and up the stages.

KAL instructors encourage swimmers from Stage 6 and above to attend an Aquatic Skills training session in addition to their weekly stage lesson to learn new skills and improve their stamina and technique.

KAL also has the Alpha Lessons which are designed to offer extra support and smaller steps for swimmers with additional needs.
