New joiners and movements into Huddersfield Leisure Centre are currently paused for lesson re-programming. Current Huddersfield leisure Centre swimmers are able to move up stages.

This session is about gaining the confidence to enter the pool safely. It also covers the ability to move around the pool with confidence and to achieve basic core aquatic skills.

These sessions aim to give participants the skills to start swimming independently over short distances. The sessions are ideal for those with none to little previous swimming experience who feel confident enough to try skills using floatation equipment or for those who have not been in the pool for a while and would like to get back into swimming.

These sessions will give swimmers the necessary skills to start swimming longer distances and more strokes independently. Participants will also gain confidence to take part in other activities such as public swimming, length swimming and Swim Fit.
